Everything that I do feels like I’m told to.

I have to rent my liver. I have to rent my spleen.

I have to get approved before I use these parts of me.

Some people say it’s crazy. Some people say it’s crude.

I used my rebuilt parts to reproduce and I got sued.

My bones are not my own bones to own

My 3D printed femur isn’t mine to control

Everyone on my TV screen says “what a giant step for humanity!”

A Giant Step for Humanity!

A giant step for humanity. A giant drop from human to me. They patented my biology away from me.

And now the company says that I stole from them when I had my son.

Two patented bodies here, but I only paid for one.

I tried to tell ‘em once these bones were mine I had patent exhaustion. The Judge wrote-

“That won’t financially incentivize innovation like congress wanted!”

It’s all sci-fi for now but it’s not a huge leap from the Monsanto seed

Unless they choose to start by reprinting their hearts to eradicate greed

It’s more likely to say they’ll reprint all our brains cuz we’re not that naïve

What a giant step for humanity that would be!

You’d feel bought out. You’d feel sold to.

You’d live everyday life just as you’re told to.

There’s nothing you’d regret. You’d be a patriot.

You’d know the difference between blue and red.

And hope that one day soon Guantanamo will end.
